Purpose:

• Under close supervision  controls all activities related to wet tobacco leaf handling, tying ,racking, curing, grading, baling and handling of tobacco leaves during storage; requests availability of the necessary materials, equipment's and manpower before the onset of each production season.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

• Coordinates and controls all leaf processing activities of the assigned LOC; Daily prepares proper curing setting for all barns , closely follow & leads curing , Ensures nice curing by closely following curing & by updating the setting  based of leaf condition on all curing barns ; controls leaf processing costs & ensures assignment & daily wage record of daily laborer's as per the labor usage norm .

• Always check & ensures the adequate availability of  Daily laborer's , required materials /fire wood ,  fuel  & others / for the whole leaf processing & curing operation. Ensures that all processing machineries, curing barns, equipment and materials are properly handled and effectively and economically used and also requests & follows-up the timely maintenance of them before the onset of the production season & when required.

• Gives most attention to avoid loss tobacco leaf at all levels of the process, and ensures implementation of all JTI new way of wet leaf handling/off the ground on tables & direct loading/, tying, curing, conveyor grading, baling and storage mechanisms are applied through out the process to achieve better result and deliver higher quality cured leaf;

• Communicates & works closely as a team with other leaf curing technicians, weekly forecast & reports number of barns that can be ready for new loading for all week days  to curing supervisor & LPM to enable then to determine amount of wet leaf that has to bought daily.

• Works to ensures established working practices, all EHS procedures and regulations are complied with in all leaf processing areas. Gives most attention to ensure work place hygiene, sanitation  and NTRM free leaf process and NTRM free cured leaf product.

• Provides support , guidance and evaluates the performances of Agronomy Associates & barn attendants and performs & reports all trials that are related with curing.

• Manages various tasks & projects as they arise and upon Manager’s request.

Job Requirements

Education:

• BSc Degree or Diploma in Plant Science.

Knowledge:

• Intermediate English (oral & written),MS Office  user, knowledge of Collective Labor Agreement, Internal Regulations and Safety Policy of the company.

Work Experience:

• 2 years for BSC Degree holders or 4 years for Diploma holders, of work experience in tobacco leaf production / processing/curing.
