HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation is an independent development organization based in Switzerland and it has been operating for the last 65 years worldwide. HELVETAS is registered in Ethiopia as foreign organization with the Agency for Civil Society Organization to operate in the areas of Rural Infrastructure, Natural Resource Management, Support to CSO and Local Governments, Skill Development & Education and Emergency Response. Major Responsibilities 

Provide driving service within and outside the duty station and expected to provide support by handling routine and casual administrative and logistic support functions as required.  

Specific Roles and Responsibilities 

• Provide driving service to staff based in your duty station and partners as assigned by your supervisor. 

• Provide logistical support at site and off-site during implementation. 

• Distribute and deliver outgoing letters, reports, etc. addressed to third parties (partners, government offices, banks, etc.) and provide related administrative support services as required. 

• Provide logistics support to the project team and administrative support team while organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences as required. 

• Provide airport drop and pick up services to the HELVETAS staff, guest and partners as required. 

• Maintain and update the vehicle log-book for every journey as per established rules and procedures. 

• To report and also get information of your movements from your supervisor. 

• Handle settlement of telephone, internet, electricity, water bills and check and collect mails and parcels from post office box as instructed by your supervisor. 

• To initiate and ensure that the vehicle under your custody has got timely services and maintenance in keeping with its service-time.  To follow-up the progress and report while the vehicle is under-repair or under regular service. 

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience 

• A minimum of 12 grades complete;

• Certificate in auto-mechanic or trained in defensive driving skills;

• 3rd grade valid driving license with a minimum of 5 years driving experience (4WD);

• Work experience with an international organization is advantageous;

• Excellent knowledge of driving cycle, proven defensive driving practice and behavior, skills in vehicles inspection and ability to make sound judgement and preventive actions;

• Ability to clearly understand and speak in English;

• Excellent social competencies: Positive attitude; sociable, supportive and cooperative working style; excellent communication skill; the ability to manage stress and meet expectations, and preparedness to occasionally work outside office.
