Imagine 1 Day International Organization (imagine1day) is a Canadian non-religious, and nonprofit making Humanitarian and Development International NGO. It has been investing on Education, WASH, Livelihood, Emergency responses, Leadership and Opportunity Development Pillars in Ethiopia since 2008. Imagine 1 Day in partnership with EHF/UN-OCHA is currently planning to implement Education Project in Tigray and is seeking qualified experts for the following posts.

Job Summary
The Regional Education Program Manager is responsible to coordinate and manage the overall implementation of the project to achieve its target following the educational minimum standards including INEE guiding principles. He/she is responsible to enroll Out of School Children (OOSC) for the ALP program and Pre-primary school age children for ASR program including children who have disability. He/she is also accountable in customizing designed curriculums to be appropriate for the ultimate goals of each project. He/she is also responsible to manage the financial issues of the project including the distribution of supplies and following the school rehabilitation/maintenance activities. He/she is in charge of capacitating staffs of the project and partners by prepare training manuals both in Tigrigna and English versions. The Regional Education Program Manager represents Imagine 1 Day at region level and creates partnership among and between Imagine 1Day and other respective local and international partners.
Main responsibilities
Work for Overall organizational development
Comply with Imagine 1 Day policies and practices with respect to Safeguarding, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
Be innovative in practicing organizational policies, rules and guidelines in order to achieve the intended Imagine 1 Day’s vision, goal, and mission.
Organize experiences that can help as basis for project proposals in education sector
Take appropriate, coordinated, and consistent actions to handle situations of personal risks and risks for others.
Implement project activities:
Prepare checklists in collaboration of partners and donors and conducting project baseline and end line assessments as per the intention of the project and donor requirement
Assist staff to reach pre-primary (ASR) and primary school age children (ALP) for enrollment and attend the designed curriculum with different modalities aligned with INEE and other guiding principles
Conduct back to school campaign jointly with children, PTAs, and the entire crises affected people.
Check the quality of the teaching and learning process to achieve the targets of the program document.
Strengthening community-based structures including PTAs for better quality implementation
Participate in customizing student text books, and work for its distribution.
Promote the necessity of Education in Emergency (EiE), and support staff to implement it.
support teachers/ facilitators to get psychosocial support (PSS)
Establish temporary learning spaces (or repairs to available/linked classrooms in schools)
Establish complaint handling and reporting mechanisms at schools
Train parents/caregivers are on positive parenting skills
Support learning spaces to have a functioning school-management committee and/or parent-teacher association (50%female)
Train education experts, school directors, teachers/facilitators, and PTA members on EiE preparedness and response plans as well as monitoring tools (drawing on INEE’s, the Inter-Agency Network for Education in Emergencies, EiE harmonized and Teachers in Crisis Context training packages)
Sensitize community members on education development
Aware community on COVID-19 prevention and risk mitigation
Support schools/TLS to organize children’s club activities (or other community/learning/recreation/play based groups) to promote children friendly activities, life skills and psychosocial activities
Prepare detail implementation plan which indicates its process and result measuring approaches for every activity: capacity building (ALP and ASR facilitators training, Active learning, child-friendly pedagogy, holistic life-skills, COVID-19 protection, gender, child protection and inclusive education,
Develop ToR for every EiE and development education project related activities including awareness campaigns
Assist program coordinators, program officers and other frontline workers to develop high quality implementation and reporting.
Disseminating best practices and lessons learnt to new communities through experience sharing visits and peer to peer learning programs
Check implementation of every activity is aligned with Imagine 1Day’s organizational goal, mission, and vision
Capacity Development:
Develop ToR for every professional training (ALP/ASR facilitators training, life skill, child friendly pedagogy, MHPSS, conflict sensitive pedagogy, Gender and PSEA, AAP, and community leaders) and community-based structures (PTA training, and children’s club)
Facilitate for training manual Preparation both in English and Tigrigna languages. (for all trainings in the PD)
Prepare, publish and distribute education related leaflets, posters and handbooks for targeted primary schools and stakeholders
Assure copy of training manuals are provided to every trainee
Monitor the quality of training delivery via different dimensions including allocated time and profile of trainer
Work for continuous scale up of the training in each site
Measure the impact of each training for sustainable project outcomes.
Assure all capacity building activities are inclusive for people with disability, and Work to ensure that the workplace is inclusive, and the talents of individuals are guided to achieve synergies and individuals and organizational success.
Partnership Development:
Create smooth relationship with Bureau of Education, woreda education experts, school principals, CBO’s, and other local NGO’s for better enrollment of school aged children
Mobilize and support community based structures including PTA’s and children club to mobilize resources, and create better protective environment for children
Promote for the goodwill of Imagine 1Day guided by our core values, culture and leadership
Facilitate the project agreement to be signed among and between respective government bureaus/agencies including Tigray Education Bureau (TEB), BoFED aid coordination core process, and others
Create a short and medium term strategy of mobilizing and sharing resource between/among Imagine 1Day and other humanitarian partners
Establish close relationship with other humanitarian actors and AoR members, and donors working in education.
Engage and take responsibility of mobilizing concerned participants for project joint monitoring and evaluation as per of the implementation plan
Participate in safety audit programs, and do for further quality project implementation as per of the feedbacks
Develop a service mapping implementation in each targeted area and develop it for AoR approvals
Participate in weekly cluster/AoR meetings and share the updates to respective responsible bodies of Imagine 1Day.
Participate in different project wise consultative workshops and review meetings.
Participate in Financial and Supply management:
Assure wise utilization of project budget as of the designed financial face form for the targeted activity and beneficiary by preparing BVA
Prepare procurement plans aligned to pre-specified face-form of the project like: purchasing combined desks, plastic chairs and tables, and disability supportive devices
Develop specification of each item to be purchased in consultation with procurement committee, and Check the quality of procured items in comparison with the pre-determined specification
Assure educational materials provided from Imagine 1Day are delivered to students and teachers, and assure the supply distribution list is well documented for both materials provided directly from Imagine 1Day and for those received through referral
Participate in Human Resource Management Activities:
Participate in recruiting high quality staffs that includes hiring of program coordinator, program officers, supervisors, ALP/ASR facilitators,
Participate and consult HR team in Measuring the performance of ASR/ALP facilitators as per of Imagine 1Day’s performance measuring tool/ (score card template)
Collaborate with HR team for staff induction and program orientation
Assure the implementation of Imagine 1Day’s policy and work discipline of every staff that comprises child safe guarding and child protection code of conduct policy, harassment policy, PSEA policy, criminal background check policy, crises management and incidence procedure policy, and others
Measure the performance of program coordinators and officers, and participate and guide their subordinates to measure the performance (score card) of their staff including at a time of prohibition period
Create a good team spirit, with appropriate provision for having successor.
Monitoring and Evaluation
Design a project wise M&E tool pointing qualitative and quantitative measurable checklist that aligns with result framework under the consultation of M&E section
Develop M&E plan, and conduct a periodic and an ad hoc M&E in each target area for every activity
Facilitate base line/need assessment, and post implementation assessments
Identify best practices and needs of development, and find out a corrective measure for better improvement on the gaps
Circulate formal feedbacks of field visits, and discussion results
Reporting, documentation, and communication
Prepare and document weekly (5W and situational), monthly, quarterly, bi-annually, annually, and project termination reports following donors format as well as Imagine 1Day’s narrative format.
Organize and document reports on: achievements of EiE projects, capacity development including on site trainings, campaigns conducted (back to school and others), supply and NFI distribution, resources received through referral, and other project and situational updates.
Develop a success story that show outcome/impact of the intervention, and disseminate it following Imagine 1Day’s communication policy
Exercise Imagine 1Day’s structures and communication rules and guidelines.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills)
MED degree in Educational Planning and Management, School leadership, Pedagogical Science or other related educational fields
Minimum Ten years’ work experience in project coordination, trainings facilitation and management areas in National and International NGO’s
Experience to lead projects on emergency and development settings
Excellent in all computer skills
Experience in reporting to donors in an NGO environment
Excellent communication skill in Local Language and English
