Job Description

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Economist and with guidance from the Secretary General, the Senior Advocacy and Partnership specialist plans and implements policy advocacy, communications initiatives, and partnership activities of the chamber. In line with the five years strategy plan of the chamber, he/she.

  • Sets goals and objectives for the activities mentioned above,

  • Synthesizes success indicators, identify means of measurement, and prepares timely reports and briefs on activities to the Secretary General

  • Pre-identify pertinent target audience from among relevant stakeholders and

  • Updates and advises the Secretary General on major policy developments, directives, strategies initiated and promulgated by government with relevance to business and economic sectors

Job Requirement

Education: BA/MA/ in Economics, BA/LLM degree in Law, and related fields of Studies from Recognized higher learning Institution

Work Experience:  Must have a minimum of 7 years for BA holders and 5 years of work experience for Master degree holders

TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • High level reporting and writing skills in English languages;

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;

  • Good knowledge of policy analysis and advocacy matters

  • Team work sprit,

  • Good ethical behavior, fair understanding of national and international economy, trade and investment environment

  • Demonstrated technical ability, sound judgment, ability to interact and work effectively with others at all levels;

  • Good conceptual understanding of participatory approach

  • Willingness to accept changes and implement it;

  • Accepting the given responsibility and being committed for overcoming;

  • Ability to discharge responsibility and problem solving mindset
