In Ethiopia, DSW has been implementing youth-focused SRH, HIV/ AIDS. Gender, Livelihood, and related development programs. Currently, DSW has got a grant for a project that focuses on SRH, GBV, and HIV/AIDS and looking for a qualified young professional for the following position.
The Project Accountant is responsible for the implementation of the DSW projects that s/he assigned for day-to-day financial issues and follows the organization and government rules and regulations procedures.
In collaboration with all other Finance staff, provide a comprehensive support service to the project team to ensure that DSW's financial control procedures and systems are followed
Follow, record, and report project/s financial status to project owner/s
Receive incoming invoices, and bills and scrutinize them before preparation of payment vouchers
Prepare check payment vouchers for service deliveries various purchases, salaries, and others.
Handling and effecting per diem payments for participants of the various capacity-building training, and events on project sites and maintaining their documentation
Support price analysis sheet for determination of the best offer and prepare purchase order.
Ensure that no payment should be initiated without standing procedure and/or agreement.
Make sure that adequate supporting documents are attached to each and every payment.
Make that proper computation of withholding other taxes is made before effecting payments.
Code all expenses accurately to meet the accounting requirements.
Provide technical support to club partners and ensure financial procedures are maintained in every expenditure.
Record receipts, payments, and other vouchers on daily basis.
Produce monthly financial reports and other reports in close collaboration with NTC-Finance
Produce and provide a budget status report for internal and external use -Support in maintaining a complete audit trail of relevant documentation
BA Degree in Accounting and related fields.
Experience
At least five years of relevant experience in an NGO setting
Good knowledge and application of Ms-Office preferably SUN accounting Software Good teamwork and working knowledge of the English language.
Excellent interpersonal skill
Training on IPSAS is an advantage
Term of employment: One year with a high possibility of extension based on the project period and performance
Duty station: Addis Ababa with frequent travel to project sites
Salary: Negotiable based on the organization's salary scale
