Job Description

Purpose of this Role 

To provide comprehensive Marketing and EPG support to the Channel Head.

Key Accountabilities

Publicity Co-ordination

  • Proactively lobbying for media coverage

  • Pitching stories to journalists

  • Secure cover features

  • Seek innovative ways to increase favorable media coverage

  • Co-ordinate campaigns and launches with media

  • Media follow ups and query responses

  • Plan and Implement publicity campaigns for content and champion reputational industry relationships

  • Content Digital/Social brand strategy and implementation

  • Anticipate or recognize issues with potentially negative impact and escalate accordingly

  • Writing: Statements, Press Release, Online content Editing

  • Monitor press doe media coverage

  • Respond to online social media queries as required

  • Create compelling EPG to highlights shows

Photoshoot Coordination 

  • Coordinate publicity shoots from conceptualization to publication

  • Proactively set up, coordinate, book and brief photographers

  • Manage bookings, invoices, admin and all costs related to photo shoots

  • Book venues, crew and art department for publicity shoots

Relationship Building

  • Work closely with content and marketing teams in order to ensure the effective integration of activities

  • Foster and maintain effective working relationships with media, production departments, independent production companies, talent, their agents and representatives, ensuring that any press and publicity activities are consistent with the overall publicity strategy

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and contacts with the media, including national and regional newspapers and magazines, websites, TV and radio outlets

Job Requirements

Education and Experience 

  • Crisis management experience  

  • A Diploma in PR /Journalism or equivalent

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ publicity/Marketing, PR or journalism experience

  • A good understanding of the media environment and the newsgathering process in radio, television and print.

  • Excellent writing skill
