Job Objective:

Highly skilled in doing all kinds of welding methods and performing all safety inspections of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) equipment and accessories. Besides a strong understanding of the different types of welding processes and how to use them and also have a thorough understanding of the different types of welding materials and how to use them.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Performs all welding works as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, following company procedures and standards.

• Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, and specifications

• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as MIG, TIG, and Stick…

• Select and set up welding torches, power supplies, fluxes, jigs, fixtures, and torque wrenches, according to welding specifications…

• Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes, using metal filler, torch, and arc welding equipment…

• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies before assembly, using straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers…

• Highly skilled in using electric arc welder, gas tungsten arc welder, and plasma arc welder…

• Capable to weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions…

• Well-skilled enough to weld almost any metal or alloy, including cast iron, aluminum, stainless steel, and nickel…

• Capable of understanding all the welding current types and welding power measurements and units…

• Capable to understand electrical devices used for welding (transformers, Multiple device machines, Automatic welding machines, Inverter machines…).

• Experienced enough in using welding cables and leads and other types of equipment.

• Perform proper use and inspection of personal protective equipment (PPE) to insure safe operation practices in the work area, proper use, and inspection of ventilation, proper hot zone operations, proper work actions for work in confined spaces and equipment…

• Understands proper use of precautionary labeling and MSDS information and always adheres to all safety standards and procedures.

• Apply all welding Inspection and Testing Principles.

• Understand all welding Procedure Specifications and taste plates.

• Follows written instructions to complete work assignments.

• Well-experienced in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) based workstations for carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum operations.

• Operating welding equipment such as arc welders and plasma cutters to fabricate metal components.

• Using hand tools such as grinders and drills to cut or shape metal parts

• Repairing cracks in welds using a welding rod and torch or other means

• Measuring and cutting metal materials to specified dimensions using hand tools such as saws, hammers, and wrenches

• Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Knowledge, skills, and experience required

•  At least High school completed but has proven 10 years and above welding experience, with a strong portfolio of work on medium to heavy-duty trucks…

• 5 years experience if Certification from an accredited welding program and Institutions and

• Having proven and practical skills in multiple welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and Stick… is a PLUS.

• Good interpersonal and work ethics
