•  Provide broad technical expertise and support to design and implement high quality and integrated capacity building, voucher-based livestock treatment and Vaccination campaigns.

• Provide support and technical assistance mainly at the field office and also act as a focal person leading on livestock disease control strategies in the FAO project interventions areas.

• Liaises with woreda and regional Livestock health responsible team towards accomplishing its project objectives and targets and work closely with other Project & Administrative staff within and outside the organization.

• Support the organization in other operations or roles as required by the Country office.

 Job Requirements

• Candidate must have an academic/professional qualification at undergraduate level or equivalent in veterinary/livestock sciences, or related field with substantial operational experience and a track record of success on livestock relief programming.

• At least 2 years (for DVM) or 5 years (for Diploma) experience in animal health related extension and outreach veterinary service delivery, PRA tools and/or participatory epidemiology techniques.

• Solid understanding of Oromia region pastoral livestock production systems, Broad perspective on transboundary livestock diseases, veterinary disease reporting, PDS and outbreak investigation.

• Team spirit, strong interpersonal communications and leadership skills.

• Communication skill both in electronic and print media.

• Fluency in English and Afan Oromo is required; knowledge of other working languages is a plus.
