About Roha Medical Campus

Roha Medical Campus PLC is building an integrated health campus in Addis Ababa. When complete, it will provide world-class, high-quality, affordable healthcare across multiple hospitals and facilities. The campus will include a medical school and facilities for research and innovation. It will be set in a lush, green setting, built to the highest sustainability standards, and with a beautiful urban park open to the public. Development of the campus has begun and the first hospital is already under construction.

Location: This role is based in Ethiopia, Addis Ababa.

Timing: March 2023

Remuneration: Salary is competitive and will depend on applicant’s background and experience.

About the role

Roha is seeking a Liaison Officer to support the successful development of the Roha Medical Campus in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary organizational contact between Roha and government agencies including but not limited to permit office, utilities, customs, investment authority, planning office, woreda, sub city, city administration.

  • Develop and foster relationships with various project stakeholders.

  • Compile reports about specific incidents, events and updates on important issues.

  • Understand the organizational structure well and refer matters that need the intervention of specific departments.

  • Proactively solve conflicts and address issues that could occur between Roha and other stakeholders.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the company and represent the Company in a positive way.

  • Assist and communicate with senior leadership in decision-making.

  • Maintaining ethical standards inline with local, international and Company policies.

  • Manage and coordinate relationships with suppliers both internally and externally.

  • Take on other tasks and responsibilities as needed to ensure the overall company success.

About the candidate

  • Successful applicants have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, think at a superior intellectual level, are flexible and imaginative, are high-energy, persistent, self-starters, are good communicators in writing and verbally, and will preferably have a proven track record of delivering on complex projects in challenging environments. Applicants could demonstrate this by having:

  • Bachelors degree in any relevant field.

  • At least 3-5 years relevant experience is a must.

  • Experience working in a fast paced and high pressure environment.

  • Strong ability to negotiate and influence people.

  • Experience in local import operations is a distint advantage.

  • Experience in dealing with government agencies especially permit office, power, and water utilities.

  • Experience on a large construction project is a must

  • Experience in healthcare projects or operations is a plus.

  • Excellent and effective communicator, both oral and written, with internal and external stakeholders.

  • English and Amharic fluency is a must.

  • Experience working in Ethiopia is a must.
