Direct report: N/A
Duty station: Butajira and frequent travel to Addis Ababa
Purpose of the Job:
The position holder responsible to executing standard construction management practices and processes across BekDes Group and manage any project from inception to end result.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide technical input on the feasibility of proposed projects.
· Participate in contract negotiations with the outsourced contractors and provide technical advice on the process.
· Follow-up construction project management and on‐site monitoring.
· Design standards and monitor performances of projects related to construction issues.
· Develop the project scope, project timeline, project deliverables and project protocol of communication.
· Monitor the structural and civil construction processes through maintaining quality and time of construction phases using the predefined standards and project timeline.
· Escalate on time major problems, findings and issues from the projects and try to solve issues in collaboration with key stakeholders.
· Perform technical inspection and verify any payments
· Ensure that construction work meets or exceeds standards within a designated
· Act as guardians of project sites construction processes.
· Lead the preparation, review and follow up project charter, project scope, project timeline, project deliverables and project protocol of communication.
· Monitor quality of work in progress and review project status updates, and resolve risks on time.
· Supervise and direct project sites operation of the contractors.
· Participate in screening and selection of contractors.
· Ensure project information are up-to-date and shared on time for other departments of the business unit to support decision making and initiate consecutive activities,
· Manage the end-to-end construction process in terms of quality, cost and time.
· Lead inspection and approve completed project before fully transferring to operations or third parties.
Job Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
· Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience
· Demonstrated strong leadership, communication skill are essential
· Initiative in problem solving
