About Dodai
Dodai Manufacturing Plc (Dodai), is a recently incorporated company originating from Delaware, USA that wishes to resolve the issue of lack of access to efficient and affordable mobility for gig workers in Ethiopia. Dodai plans to provide brand new electric two wheelers by assembling them here in Addis Ababa.
The Head of Commercial for Dodai will be part of the senior management team and will be responsible for the business development, sales and marketing functions of the organization. S/he will be expected to develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth.
S/he will be responsible to conduct market research to understand customer needs, develop customer acquisition strategy, plan and execute marketing campaigns, monitor the performance of the sales, business development and marketing team reporting to her/him and build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders crucial to the business. In addition, as part of the senior management team s/he’s expected to provide overall direction for the business.
Develop and implement commercial strategy to expand the organization's commercial activities and generate revenue streams for sustainable financial growth
Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (business development, sales, marketing, expansion etc.)
Understand the requirements of potential and existing customers to ensure their needs are being met
Act to acquire new customers and manage client relationships (new and existing)
Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams (marketing, sales, customer service etc.)
Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders
Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management
Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring
Bachelor's degree in business fields such as Sales, Marketing, Business Development or closely related fields
Minimum of proven 10 years working in a multinational company environment, in a similar position out of which 5 years is in a managerial role
Proven experience in sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients
In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
Experience of working in an extremely fast paced startup environment would be big plus
