Job Description
Development for Peace Organization (DPO) is an Ethiopian National Civil Society Organization, established in Addis Ababa 2020. The organization is officially registered in accordance with legislation on Agency for Civil Society Organization by the registration number of 5164 with mission to improve the lives of disadvantaged people through increasing their access to Health and Education services, supporting Income Generation and improving the natural environment, WaSH, one to one sponsorship, Humanitarian Response program and Peace and Reconciliation by applying a holistic and participatory approach.
Job Summary
The compliance advisor specializes in compliance law. Coordinate the creation, review and implementation of policies and procedures established by the authorities that regulate the Organization, apply and interpret audit and compliance requirements for various departments. The role holder will work to identify risks that could impair DPO’s reputation, information security, or general operations and suggest ways to mitigate or eliminate them entirely. The role holder ensures that DPO remains fully compliant with relevant local, and federal regulations.
Roles and Responsibilities
Conducting compliance risk assessment and the organization’s tolerance for risk,
Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance procedures are followed across the organization,
Conducting internal reviews and audits of current compliance policies and procedures to identify areas of improvement,
Conducting environmental audits to ensure the organization meets environmental requirements
Organize workshops and training sessions to educate and update employees on organization’s compliance policies, regulations and processes,
Advising internal management on the implementation of compliance programs,
Developing risk management strategies
Following up on compliance issues that require investigation
Evaluating compliance systems and ensuring adequate software is in place
Prepare risk management reports for top-level management based on internal reviews and advise the executives on risk mitigation measures and implementation of adequate compliance programs
Maintaining records of compliance practice in the organization
Lead improvements and design of innovative industry-wide compliance and controls across the organization
Define and enhance program metrics, measuring and demonstrating program, effectiveness, representing the program and presenting results to the Senior Management Team

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Statistics, Law, Accounting & Finance, Human Resources or related fields
Experience
At least Eight years of similar compliance experience, which among those at least 2 years in managerial role.
Industry experience with governance and compliance risk management
Audit or consulting experience in identifying risk and controls across business processes
Skills
Firm understanding of compliance practices,
statistical, analytical and organizational skills,
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Possessing a keen eye for detail and organizational skills is also crucial for this career.
Ability to quickly adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through both analytical and problem-solving capabilities
