Job Description

Key Responsibilities 

Represent DSW overall perspectives and interests to external and internal stakeholders

Provide technical support and backstopping to the respective country office project officers and field office coordinators

Review tools and other project-related guidelines for improved program implementation, monitoring, and impact assessment

Supply project teams with tools needed for effective project management and reporting

Lead the process to document best practices

Establish links with partners who implement successful youth/community programmes

Lead the process to ensure youth programs become self-sustainable

Ensure Projects are implemented to the expected high standards, according to work plans and budgets using prescribed Project Cycle Management (PCM) tools

Set proper Project monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, including conducting of quarter, bi-annual and annual reviews with development partners and beneficiaries

Facilitate, ensure provision of up to the standard training to project staff as well as beneficiaries in collaboration with the training center Manager

Take the lead in organizing and submitting reports for donors, on time and to the expected standard

Make sure that field offices are running their business effectively and efficiently

Conduct periodic evaluation of project performance and suggest innovative ideas for better performance of projects and programs

Play key role in the resource mobilization efforts of the organization

Perform other duties may be assigned by the country director

Job Requirements

Required qualification:

Master’s degree in Sociology, Social work, Economics, Development Studies, Public Health or related fields.

Experience and skills:

Minimum of fifteen years’ progressive work experience in program management and implementation, five of which should be as program manager in NGOs preferably in international NGOs

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

Sound and proven experience in managing projects and people both at head office and field offices level

Good knowledge of the reproductive health, youth economic empowerment and other development issues focused on youth and young women.

Excellent and proven report and proposal writing skills

Prior demonstrated ability to computer applications (Ms offices), knowledge of database structure and development

Excellent command of English language both oral and written

Good team player with proven ability to work in diverse culture and professional setting.

Duty Station: At country office in Addis Ababa with frequent field trips to project areas
