About ASDEPO

ASDEPO’s mission is to improve the lives of needy mothers, children, youths, and elders from first to last escalating their access to health and education services, supporting income generation and improving the natural environment, using a holistic and participatory loom.

ASDEPO is a local Civil Society Organization that has been working in all Regions of Ethiopia towards ensuring the poorest and most vulnerable and those affected by humanitarian crises have access to the fundamental rights of life, including but not limited to adequate shelter, food and livelihoods, water and sanitation, nutrition, healthcare and education. ASDEPO implements a range of multi-sectorial development, resilience, recovery and humanitarian responses Programmes by being sensitive to cross-cutting issues. 

Responsibilities:

  • The GBV Response Officer will supervise the case management and support provided to GBV survivors.

  • The GBV Response Officer will train and supervise IDP social workers to respond to cases of GBV in the site and ensure effective case management. This includes providing ongoing training and mentorship for social workers and utilizing monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure high quality services.

  • As survivors of gender-based violence tend to have multiple needs, the GBV Response Officer will encourage smooth communication, collaboration and coordination among partners from the protection, health, legal, and psychosocial sectors committed to reducing the incidence of violence against women.   This includes collecting data about GBV trends and disseminating information to all relevant stakeholders and conducting response-related trainings for service providers to promote quality services. 

  •  The GBV Response Officer will also establish, maintain networks, and participate in zone cluster meetings.

  • Participates in Integrated Assessments at the area levels, as a means to observe and identify key opportunities for improved GBV and PSEA risk mitigation, prevention and response.

  • Build a relationship with all relevant GBV program stakeholders (health, legal, protection, psychosocial) in camp and the local community to encourage greater communication, collaboration and coordination among partners from the protection, health, legal, and psychosocial sectors.

  • Contributes to the development of project proposals, briefings, evaluations, assessments, workplans, periodic progress reporting, situational analysis, advocacy messages, strategies, reports on GBV and PSEA for senior management, donors, governmental and non-governmental stakeholders, in a timely and professional manner.

  • Compile 5w, weekly and other required reports and submit to Manager and submit estimate quarterly program purchase requests according to the field requirements and submit requests on time

  • Ensure that all relevant financial documentation is complete and submitted to finance in a timely manner as required by ASDEPO finance policy.

  • Education

  • A university degree from an accredited educational institution in law, Sociology, human rights, international development, or international relations, or any other relevant field.

 Number of Post- 2 (two)

Job Requirements

Work Experience

  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience for MA and Four years for BA, preferably in gender, GBV or PSEA and/or other related discipline in Jordan is preferred. is required to answer.

  • Experience in participatory techniques and community mobilization

  • Ability to lead, train, supervise, facilitate and motivate other GBV field workers in their respective tasks in a professional, respectful and supportive manner. 

  • Positive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain composure and prioritize work under pressure, work over-time when needed and able to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.

  • Ability to work as a member of a team essential.

  • Previous experience in NGO sector.
