Summary: The U.S. Mission in Addis Ababa/Ethiopia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Human Resources Clerk.
The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties
The position is located in the Human Resources (HR) Office at the front desk and as such, requires the incumbent to be professional to greet and assist all visitors and callers to the office. Incumbent will be the customer service provider for all walk-ins to the HR section as well as answering phone inquiries transferred by the switchboard. Performs or provides assistance with general office support including but not limited to handling paper flow, preparing routine documents, and assuring that information is properly shared between different sections of the HR office. Answers general HR-related queries from external visitors and callers, and coordinates logistics for official visits and representational events.
Qualifications and Evaluations
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in the administrative or clerical field is required.

EDUCATION: Completion of high school is required.

Amharic Language Level 3 (Good working knowledge) Reading, writing and Speaking are required. (This may be tested)

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, and Internet).
Must have excellent customer service and communication skills to manage in-person and telephone contacts.
Must be organized, diligent and able to work under pressure.
Good interpersonal relationships are required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, and Internet), and typing skills of at least 40 WPM required.
Ability to work on Overseas Personnel System (OPS), Electronic Recruitment Application (ERA), and Time and Attendance, as needed, for reporting purposes. 3 FAM, HR Application Instruction Manuals, Department cables, Local Compensation Plan (LCP), Department of State regulations and SOPs, post policies and guidelines; Post’s Local Compensation Plan.
All other handbooks relating to position function, course materials, and DOS HR/OE Website. (This may be tested)

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
