Job Description
United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs is a United Nations body established in December 1991 by the General Assembly to strengthen the international response to complex emergencies and natural disasters.
Education: A graduate degree in political science, social science, public administration, international studies, economics, or a closely related field from an advanced university (Master’s degree or equivalent). The advanced university degree may be substituted with a first-level university degree and two more years of relevant experience.
Experience: 0 year experience No more than two years of increasingly responsible and pertinent professional experience in humanitarian affairs, emergency preparedness, rehabilitation, or related fields are required for those with a bachelor’s degree.
having substantial on-the-ground expertise in complicated crises, including humanitarian assistance initiatives.
Experience with UN or NGO necessary
It is imperative to have experience working effectively with government representatives and technical employees as well as a demonstrated capacity to operate in an inter-agency context.

Language prerequisites
English and Amharic language proficiency is necessary. (Orally and in writing).
It is advantageous to be able to interpret/translate conversations, office reports, and/or documents from regional languages into English.
