Position Title: - Junior Application Developer

Job Grade: -      05

Duty Station: - Addis Ababa/Head Office

Availability: - As soon as possible

Job Purpose: - The purpose of the job is to participate in and assist the design, development, maintenance and enhancement of new or existing nonbusiness (corporate) and business applications; to perform the daily data warehouse activities; to provide tier I technical support for all business and corporate applications software and a database which encompasses support and maintenance of headquarter and regional trading centers application software.

 SUMMARY OF MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Gathers and refines user requirements from business users, contributes to and assists in the design of corporate business applications, and produces requirements and designs documents.

• Develops application logic using programming language and unit tests the application by strictly adheres to software development life cycle process and method.

• Fixes application bugs, maintains existing applications, and gives application support as directed by the division manager.

• Proactively communicate progress, issues and risks on assigned tasks.

• Contributes during JAD session and software design stage.

• Participate in minor code development as directed by the division manager.

• Administers and manages ETL, ensures that the data warehouse system is running smoothly without problem, and provide technical support on data warehouse system.

• Participate in the design, development and maintenance of data dissemination software.

• Produce software documentations and learn key components of the software.

• Generate various reports as required.

• Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or other related fields.

• 6 months of IT-related experience.
