About Dodai

Dodai Manufacturing Plc (Dodai), is a recently incorporated company originating from Delaware, USA that wishes to resolve the issue of lack of access to efficient and affordable mobility for gig workers in Ethiopia. Dodai plans to provide brand new electric two wheelers by assembling them here in Addis Ababa.

Purpose of the Position

The Logistics Coordinator for Dodai will be part of the operations team and will be responsible for the overall supply chain of the organization’s products starting from importing SKD/CKD to availability of all parts, tools and other essential items to the production team.

S/he will be responsible to engage with various internal and external stakeholders such as suppliers, freight forwarders, clearing agents and Factory Operations, sales and finance team respectively to ensure timely and consistent availability of required goods. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and managing the entire import process of goods from overseas to Ethiopia, ensuring on-time deliveries and smooth operations.

  • Collaborate with international suppliers, Ethiopian customs authorities, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate efficient communication and issue resolution.

  • Monitor and track the performance of carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics service providers, ensuring high-quality service and cost-effective solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable import regulations, including Ethiopian customs requirements and international trade laws.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all shipments, including documentation, costs, and delivery statuses.

  • Work closely with internal teams, such as procurement and sales, to support demand forecasting and import scheduling.

  • Contribute to the implementation and optimization of logistics processes and systems to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Analyze and report on import performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Stay informed of changes in import regulations, industry trends, and market conditions, adjusting strategies and processes as necessary.

  • Provide support and assistance to the Logistics Manager and other team members as needed

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics and Supply Management, Business Administration or closely related fields

  • Minimum of 3 years working in a similar position, preferably with a focus on imports to Ethiopia of similar products (Automotive, motorcycle, bajaj, etc.)

  • Hands-on experience of managing an end-to-end importing processes 

  • Deep understanding of Ethiopian customs regulations and the efficient way to interact with freight forwarders and other stakeholders

  • Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Solid understanding of logistics and inventory management software.

  • Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
