Job Description

Scope of Work for Facilitator and Notetaker for A Design Sprint Workshop 

With funding and support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (CCP) is conducting an implementation research project to develop and test strategies/solutions that optimize uptake and adherence to institutional delivery (ID), antenatal care (ANC) and IFA supplementation among pregnant women in Sirraro and Shalla woredas in Oromia region. CCP is looking for 16 interns who will support facilitation and notetaking through the design workshop. The design workshops will be held in various sessions for two months from April 19-May 18.

Scope of work for facilitators and notetakers

Facilitators 

  • Attend facilitators and notetakers training organized by CCP form, date to be determined.

  • Internalize facilitation guideline, tools and workshop agenda 

  • Support logistics arrangement for the workshop such as hall, refreshment 

  • Travel to workshop sites 5. Facilitate the workshop as per the guidance given from CCP 

  • Support and make sure proper documentation of all the workshops outputs 

Notetakers: 

  • Attend facilitators and notetakers training organized by CCP form April 19-21

  • Internalize tools and workshop agenda

  • Make sure the necessary logistics for notetaking are ready before the workshop

  • Travel to workshop sites 

  • Taking notes (in writing, pictures, & voice) during the workshop as per the guidance given from CCP

  • Support workshop facilitation

  • Make sure proper documentation of all the workshops outputs

  • Support in taking attendances of workshop participants 

  • Support in logistics arrangements: training materials, venues and refreshment

  • Support translations in local languages during workshop

  • Organize high level accuracy, and attention to detail of the meeting conversation.

Required no: 8 Facilitators & 8 Notetakers

Other requirements:  Currently not hired preferably a fresh graduate

Place of work: Sirraro and Shalla woredas in the Oromia region

Job Requirements

Required qualifications, & skills Facilitators:

  •  Familiarity with the study Woreda/s

  • Language fluency in both Afaan Oromo and Amharic languages 

  • At least a first degree in health or social science

  • Women are preferable. 

  • Previous workshop facilitation experience

  • Previous experience in community volunteer activity.

Note taker:

  • Familiarity with the study Woreda/s

  • Language fluency in both Afaan Oromo and Amharic languages

  • At least a first degree in health or social science

  • Previous experience in notetaking

  • Excellent listening and writing skills in local languages and English 

  • Comfortable working with the rural community- mothers and their husbands
