We are seeking a Communications/Knowledge Management Specialist to lead strategic communications efforts and strengthen coordination, collaboration, and synergies within the Mission and other key stakeholders. The purpose of this activity is to bolster the capacity of USAID/Ethiopia to work towards a Mission-wide systematic and intentional approach to learning. The Activity will improve data management and help the Mission to make timely decisions in program design and implementation. The Activity will enable wider collective impact of USAID and other partners – thereby better meeting the Development Objectives outlined in the Mission's Country Development & Cooperation Strategy (CDCS).
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing written communications, such as case studies and success stories, as well as supporting the development of learning products that convey information in easily digestible formats for the Ethiopia Learning Analytics Activity.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Responsibilities and tasks will include, but are not limited to:
Lead strategic communications efforts to ensure effective communication with stakeholders and partners.
Develop written communications, such as case studies and success stories, to showcase the Mission's successes and impact.
Support the development of learning products, including infographics, that convey information in easily digestible formats.
Work collaboratively with the Mission team and other key stakeholders to strengthen coordination and collaboration.
Provide guidance and support to team members on best practices for knowledge management and communication.
Develop and implement a knowledge management strategy to ensure the effective capture and dissemination of information.
Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts and make recommendations for any improvement.
Monitor and analyze communication metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and make recommendations for improvement.
Stay up to date with industry trends and developments in knowledge management and communication strategies.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Social Sciences, Media Studies, or a related field.
A minimum of three years of experience in knowledge management and communications role, preferably in the context of the development sector.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear and concise messaging across multiple channels.
Demonstrated experience in developing case studies, success stories, and learning products in various formats.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff and partners at all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate communication metrics and make data-driven recommendations.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
Master’s degree in a relevant field
