Under the supervision of the Director of Finance and Operations, the Senior Finance Manager is responsible for the overall coordination, oversight and day-to-day finance and grants management of MSH Ethiopia projects. S/he will ensure that the country finance team provides a full range of financial support for projects related activities and funding with a particular focus on accurate, timely, and sophisticated budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis, financial monitoring, and reporting. S/he ensures that financial functions support the timely and effective implementation of the project’s technical scope of work. The Senior Finance Manager provides counsel to help project leadership ensure that resources are allocated and used in compliance with contractual requirements, applicable regulations, and appropriate standards and procedures. S/He manages and ensures the accuracy of the financial statements of sub awardees.

Job Requirements

Required Minimum Education:

• The minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Preferred: Master of Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or other related social science disciplines.

Required Minimum Experience:

•  More than 8 years of experience and skills in a similar position and in project management. Thorough knowledge of USG financial reporting and compliance requirements. Extensive USAID experience is highly preferred.

 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :

• Expert skills in Excel Spreadsheets, QuickBooks or similar accounting software, Possess advanced knowledge of relevant software (Word, Outlook, and PPT) applications, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems. Good communication skills (both verbal and written communication skills in English, and local languages)

• Strong leadership, mentoring, management, planning, analytical and organizational skills demonstrated by ability to work both independently and within a team, assess priorities, and manage a variety of activities with attention to detail.

PHYSICAL AND Travel DEMANDS :

• Physical Demands: Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to navigate an office environment and pick up materials.

• Travel: Willing to travel to project implementation sites and regional offices as appropriate.
