Are you looking for a leadership career with kingdom impact? Samaritan's Purse is a seeking a Deputy Chief of Party, Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) in Shire, Ethiopia. Your strong organizational skills,financial management experience, and knowledge of grants from the Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) and Emergency Response Programs will help you excel in this position.
A day in the life of a Deputy Chief of Party, BHA:

In the role of Deputy Chief of Party BHA, you will have the opportunity to:
Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
Assist the Chief of Party in the direction and oversight of the BHA program, to ensure it stays within given budgets and project deadlines, while ensuring that all program goals are met through proper planning, staffing, and implementation
Ensures project activities comply with international and Samaritan’s Purse standards, and meet USAID rules and regulations.
Supports accurate and timely reports to donors, local government, and International Headquarters.
Establishes and maintains effective project reporting, evaluation, and communication systems in collaboration with the Monitoring & Evaluation team.
Makes regular visits to project field sites providing staff support, addressing programmatic challenges, and exploring future program possibilities.
Maintains a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public.
Follows policies and procedures of Samaritan's Purse as set forth in the Policy Manual.
Attends daily morning devotions and participates in prayer support for the ministry, donors and volunteers.

Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A) from 4-year college or university in Development, Social Studies, or other relevant discipline and a minimum of three (3) years of international work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with BHA grants, ensuring regulations and rules are followed properly.
Ability to understand donor and governmental requirements
General knowledge of foreign currencies and grants management
Ability to coordinate and manage staff and project activities
General knowledge of in-country regulations
Type: Full-Time
Location: Tigray, Ethiopia
Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required)
Accompaniment: Unaccompanied
Travel Expectations: 30% travel to field locations, required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary. Position requires travel and work in difficult conditions and under pressure. Must be able to work in a security context that is fluid.
