Job Description
The Community Mobilization Officer is responsible for the IYCF/E BCC and acute malnutrition community mobilization implementation in the Refugee camps/host community working closely with BPRM partners and camp committee/woreda Health bureau. The Officer has the responsibility to ensure high-quality IYCF and acute malnutrition community mobilization activities, closely coordinated and integrated with the emergency Nutrition Response projects in the area.
Principal Responsibilities
Ø Implement the IYCF/E and acute malnutrition community mobilization program according to the National protocol
Ø Undertake training to outreach workers, health extension workers and volunteers in the project regarding IYCF/E and acute malnutrition screening, referral and community follow up
Ø Working closely with outreach workers select care group volunteers and establish care groups
Ø Provide direct one to one counseling in safe spaces to mothers with breast feeding problems and refer to MTI/
Ø government health facilities where skilled/ facility level support is needed
Ø Adopt and translate the care group discussion manual on IYCF/E and CMAM to local language
Ø Regularly mentor and supervise the out-reach workers in IYCF/E promotion and CMAM community mobilization
Ø activities (including MUAC screening and referral) and care group discussions
Ø Together with the project manager, collaborate with MTI and DRC to establish IYCF spaces in existing WGSS and
Ø other protection centers
Ø Link IYCF/E and acute malnutrition referral and follow up program with the existing health/camp structure smoothly
Ø Works and liaise with partner organization and district health bureau to ensure complementarity and integration of
Ø IYCF/E and community mobilization program with existing nutrition response interventions in the area.
Ø Organizes monthly report of community mobilization, IYCF/E interventions and report on time to the Project Manager,
Ø Create and maintain relationship with BPRM partners, MTI, local health bureau and other relevant authorities
Ø Reports any problems in a timely manner to the Project Manager
Ø Upholds the image and values of FH at all times,
Ø Performs other related tasks as required and assigned by the project manager.

In each Project and Head Office, ask women staff what changes would make it more “gender-friendly”, organization and implement the recommendations

Ø Each FHE staff member should adhere to all pertinent policies concerning safety and security policy of FH. Lapses in safe conduct can jeopardize the health and welfare of all staff.
Ø Every FHE staff member has an obligation to learn and understand the security situation where they are located.
Ø Each FHE staff member should adhere to all pertinent policies concerning safety and security. This includes, but not limited to, personal safety, road safety, etc.
Ø He/she has a responsibility to become familiar to social, cultural and other associated features of their duty stations;
Ø Abstains from inappropriate or offensive behavior that can put FHE in a difficult position, impair operations, and jeopardize the health and welfare of all staff of FHE.
Ø All FHE staff should promotes safe conducts and exercises caution in all work activities; staff should accountable for own personal and professional actions and conduct;

⮚ Training experience in IYCF and CMAM community mobilization
⮚ Proficiency in spoken and written English and Local language.
⮚ Strong computer (Microsoft skills)
⮚ Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
⮚ Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with challenging working conditions;
Experience
⮚ Minimum three years working experience out of which two year experience directly related to IYCF and emergency nutrition
Education/Certifications
⮚ BSC in nursing, public health, nutrition or related field.
