DEC is a local CSO established in 2007 and re-registered in May 2019 as per the new Authority for CSO Proclamation by the Ethiopian government bearing a registration number of 0009. The organization has five major programs; Child Well-being and Education Development Programme, Gender and Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development Program, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency Program. DEC actively works in six National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration. DEC would like to recruit for the following position: Social worker.
Job Summary
Social Workers tend to work with /assist/ target populations that may be suffering due to poverty, discrimination, or other social injustices, neglect, abuse, domestic violence, mental health, and parental substance abuse. Clinical social workers may also diagnose and treat mental, behavioral, and emotional issues.
Roles and Responsibilities
Design and develop social service programs in the place of their work
Network with relevant agencies for effective referrals and collaboration and create a good environment for program visibility.
Closely work with local authorities and relevant government sector (women and children affairs, education, social affairs, schools etc.) to facilitate recovery and reiteration of the affected population
Create awareness on services, on key issues of empowerment and enhance social cohesion among communities
Ensure integration of social work with other programs in the organization for a holistic approach.
Facilitate all aspects of counseling and psychology while focusing on target case management.
Work with program beneficiaries such as caregivers and other relevant institutions for community participation.
Review social work documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Develop work plans and monitor implementation to ensure the meeting of targets.
Review reports from social workers to monitor caseloads of staff, service provision and expenditures for social work.
Manage reporting and impact measurement for all the areas of social work.
Duty station; West Wollega Gimbi
Duration: for 6 Months

Qualification and experience
BA Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Development Economics, Project Management with the equivalent of a minimum of 1 years experience of experience in a similar position Qualified Female applicants Who fulfill the requirement appreciated.
Technical and Other Skills
Good communication skill
Experience in team works and team mobilizations and partnership management;
Experience on facilitating assessments, best practice capturing and working with communities
Good report writing, use of technology application skills;
