Job Description

The Evaluation Intern conducts social science literature reviews, Assists in the creation of data collection tools, including surveys. Assist in data management, including cleaning. Assist in data analysis and drafting of reports and presentations & Provide event and administrative support as needed.

Job Requirements

  • He or she should be enrolled at a university in Ethiopia at the undergraduate or graduate level or be a recent graduate (within the past two years) in development studies, social sciences, statistics, economics, education, health sciences, behavioral studies, law or related fields is required.

  • Knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications; excellent knowledge of MS Office is required.

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of more than a language spoken in Ethiopia is an advantage.

  • Being active in human rights, child rights, women rights, youth related initiatives (including in university groups, sport clubs, others) is an asset.

  • Experience in research/evaluation and fieldwork/data collection among marginalized/vulnerable communities, including children, is an asset.

Under the supervision of the Evaluation specialist, the intern will undertake the following (non-exhaustive) tasks:

  • Support in the implementation of the evaluation unit plan (including, possibly, some administrative tasks);

  • Take responsibilities and initiative in the National Evaluation Capacity Development initiatives supported by the unit;

  • Take the lead in the systematization and storage in online systems and archives;

  • Be key resource person in child-centered evaluations;

  • Take the lead in linking the unit to youth groups working on related issues;

  • Take the lead in connecting with “EvalYouth” and creating initiatives for young evaluators in the country and for promoting the evaluation culture among young colleagues in the office.
