Duties & Responsibilities;

  • Coordinate the implementation of multisector project and ensure effective integration is in place. The project is implemented as per the project proposal, WVE policies, donor guidelines and government regulations.

  •  Establish a system for fulfilling reporting requirements and documentation in the life cycle of response projects.

  • Work closely with the project manager & other staff in knowledge management

  • Lead and coordinate in selected field monitoring on the response project and reflection processes. Ensure quality of these exercises including data gathering, analysis and reporting.

  • Coordinate and encourage staffs towards producing consolidated project working documents, Plan and Reports for the partner’s consumption, and analyses and use of data for management, advocacy or marketing purposes. Review reports for the quality of monitoring and evaluation products and provide feedback to the project Manager and offer assistance as needed.

  • Develop a system to document and disseminate lessons learned from the response projects within the project frame. Assist the project manager in identifying and mainstreaming best practices.

  • Liaise with all concerned to collaborate, document and exchange lessons learned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position:

List academic requirements (if applicable), technical skills, or other knowledge required as a minimum qualification for this position.

  • BA/BSc Degree in Agriculture, Sociology, agricultural economics, Economics, Development studies, WASH related or other related fields

  • Experience:  at least 4 years of work experience preferably in Monitoring and Evaluation, Planning and Reporting, reporting and documentation, DME, data analysis or related position. 

  • Demonstrated ability in supervision.

  • Able to engage religious leaders of all faiths by mobilizing them to promote holistic response

  • Working knowledge of disaster management, emergency preparedness, monitoring and evaluation, sphere standards are added advantage.

  • Good planning and organizational skills.

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and other stakeholders.

  • Full computer and Internet skills including MS Office for word processing, ACCESS or other databases and in database design, graphic presentation and financial spreadsheet programs,

  • NGO experience in emergency context is preferred

List additional work experience required as a minimum qualification for this position.

  • Experience in working with donor funds and grants funding.

  • Technical Training qualifications required:  Participatory M&E, Results-Based management, Logical Framework Analysis, community participation, Participatory Rural Appraisal, Participatory Learning & Action, etc.

  • Be empowerment focused as opposed to service delivery.

License, registration, or certification required to perform this position:

  • Effective in written and verbal communication in English [and insert language(s) here].

  • Sound background in National and Global Humanitarian response framework and implementation guideline    

  • Sound knowledge and familiarity with the structure and operations of national health Nutrition and WASH policy , strategies and guidelines

  • The position requires ability and willingness to work in Emergency Setting with frequent travel  

  • Work environment:  operational in the targeted woreda of Tigray.
