Green Scene is seeking Civil Engineer to join our team. The position requires thorough knowledge of civil/structural design and engineering techniques. Responsible to plan and conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria of building construction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills, and experience.

• Prepare project related documentations such as bill of quantities and contract documents and modify the same when necessary.

• Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, directing and controlling construction work of building structures and /or plant infrastructure facilities.

• Plan, manage and execute construction activities

• Prepare periodic progress reports, site monitoring reports, financial expenditure reports and stakeholder meeting minutes, and close-out reports.

• Collecting payment related information as required by the management team for assisting in decision making and financial status reporting.

• Regularly follow-up of project progress report on value executed and what remains outstanding and make sure that work progresses is according to schedule.

• Produce concise project deliverables like request for proposals, bid documents, and modification drawings as required.

• Assist in contract agreement preparation and contract administration works.

• Review, follow up and advise design modification/construction detailing as per the actual site condition & in accordance with design and/or specification.

• Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time by your immediate superior

QUALIFICATIONS

• BSc in Civil Engineering required with sound knowledge of electrical, mechanical, & HVAC construction related experiences. Familiarity with powerhouse construction is desirable.

• Minimum 2 years of civil engineering and construction project management experience.

• Knowledge of site development engineering (utilities, earthwork, concrete work etc)

• Knowledge of computer application skill including CAD, SAP, MS Project, STACK Takeoff and estimating software and other similar engineering software

CONDITIONS

• Position based in Addis Ababa and frequent travel to the sites.
