Job Description:
Establish and maintain contacts with Regional and Federal authorities in the Area of Reference (AoR) (Adama, Semera, Diridawa, Gambela Kombolcha Jijiga, Mekelle, Shire, Gonder and other locations as required).
Liaise and maintain close contacts with local community elders, zonal administrators, DPPC and other local authorities in the AoR.
Liaise with the concerned authorities and community heads on all subjects related to providing the safe passage of fleet and humanitarian cargoes and personnel, across regional borders and challenging environments.
Identify and maintain effective information sharing mechanism amongst all actors on the ground and with Head of Office/Area Security, Account Manager and the Client focal people in the AoR.
Responsible for obtaining non-confidential information on all matters related to security operations that are important for the logistics efforts of WFP and its partners in the AoR as well as for monitoring missions.
Through liaison with elders and relevant authorities, assist with any other duties required to support the operations. Such as, assessments of infrastructure, monitoring of truck movements and reporting all movements or issues to appointed focal persons.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager and/or appointed focal persons.
Ensure all staff are issued with country specific operational guidelines & receive full induction prior to commencing work.
Work Location: Addis Ababa with frequent travels to the field
Requirements:
A relevant HR or relevant qualification &/or experience may be waived in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable relevant Administration experience (essential) and/or minimum of 5 years of demonstrable relevant Human Resources experience. (essential)
Fluency in English and in Amharic.
Education Level:
Bachelor's Degree in the field of Business Administration, HR or related field,
Certificate in a relevant HR qualification & / or experience
