Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads the preparation of ongoing situation reports, periodic updates and analyses, by compiling and analyzing data, and related information on overall IDP, returnees and humanitarian crisis in the target area, with a specific to the projects sectors and prepare written inputs accordingly to inform effective program planning, development and management

  • Undertakes regular field visits to WVE and partners project areas and IDP/returnee sites, to assess local conditions and monitor progress.

  • Collect information; identify problems and constraints in order to ensure effective project delivery.

  • Design, prepare, monitor and evaluate the projects in partnership with civil society and government actors

  • Monitor, analyses and evaluate project results to ensure achievement of objectives and take corrective action when necessary.

  • Ensure application of standards, guidelines and good practices for the response sectors of the project in emergency related activities

  •  Participate in meetings with relevant coordination forums, local authorities, other actors and donors to discuss and represent WVE’s work

  • Give supervisory support, coaching and evaluating performance of full-time staffs of the project at the field level

  • Follow up budget status of projects and programs under his/her supervision and review the same

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • List education, knowledge & skills, licenses preferred, and all experiences required to perform this position in a fully competent manner.

  •  Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position:

  • List academic requirements (if applicable), technical skills, or other knowledge required as a minimum qualification for this position.

 Qualification Required:

  • BA/BSc Degree in Agric. Econ. & Devel. Studies, Emergency management, Health, Nutrition

  • Experience: 3-5 yrs/2 yrs in Supervisory level

  • Technical Training qualifications required: relief and disaster management and development related.

  • Other: Knowledge of local context. 

  • List additional work experience required as a minimum qualification for this position.

  •  Good in time management

  •  Proposal writing skill  

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office and Lotus Notes.

  • Knowledge of and adherence to the Red Cross and NGO Code of Conduct

  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.

  • Attend and participate in daily devotions and weekly Chapel services.

  • Perform other duties as required.

  • License, registration, or certification required to perform this position:

  •  If applicable, include language requirement(s) as a minimum qualification for this position.

  •  Effective in written and verbal communication in English and the local language.

  • Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  •  List academic, technical skills or other knowledge preferred for this position.

  •  Preferred: MA in Developmnet Studies or Social S. Fields/MSc in Agric. Or Disaster Management and related field.

  • List additional work experience preferred for this position.

  •  Experience in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and report writing.
