S Sara Group of companies are Ethiopia based companies engaged in Export, Import, Construction, Manufacturing and other related sectors. Reporting to COO / CTO, Import & Fleet Officer will be responsible for establishing and directing the import & fleet management activities of the organization.
Job brief:
Import & Fleet Officer will be responsible for overseeing the import of goods along with fleet management. You will work with vendors, suppliers, and other parties to ensure that products arrive on time and in good condition. You will be responsible for handling all activities related to customs and/or other concerned government agencies. You will also be responsible for planning, directing, managing, coordinating and supervising the programs for acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement and disposal of fleet vehicles. Import & Fleet Officer will also serve as the primary contact concerning the import, vehicle fleet and operations.
Working with vendors to ensure they meet quality standards;
Managing inventory levels by ensuring that products are ordered or produced in time to meet customer demand or seasonality requirements;
Developing long-term business relationships with suppliers in order to secure competitive pricing on key materials or services;
Analyzing data to identify trends that may indicate a need for change within a company’s supply chain;
Overseeing logistics to ensure that products are delivered as promised;
Negotiating prices with suppliers to ensure that costs fit within budgets;
Coordinating with marketing teams to develop new products or improve existing ones based on consumer feedback;
Coordinating with the shipping department to arrange the transportation of goods from suppliers to warehouses or retail locations;
Coordinating with the clearing agent(s) for smooth clearance of goods at customs;
Maintaining vehicles for deliveries;
Deciding whether to lease or buy vehicles;
Assisting in the recruitment of quality drivers into the fleet;
Developing efficient driver schedules to maximize profits;
Managing drivers so they adhere to strict schedules;
Registering and licensing all vehicles under their management;
Finding ways to cut costs and maximize profits;
Developing strategies for greater fuel efficiency;
Maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection;
Complying with local transport laws and regulations;
Scheduling regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency;
Ensuring strict servicing and maintenance times to minimize downtime and maintain schedules;
Monitoring driver behavior and ensuring a high level of customer service;
Analyzing data to increase business operational efficiency;
Utilizing GPS systems to monitor drivers and track vehicles in case of theft;
Performs other duties assigned by management, as required.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor Degree in related field with 2-5 years’ experience in import and fleet management.
Requirements and skills:

Knowledge about budget management, local & international trade and taxations;
