Nature and scope of the positions
The Geologist is responsible for promoting appropriate or best prospecting / exploration methods/ techniques to small and medium scale operators and for undertaking technical assistance programs for improving exploration.
The applicant must advise on general mining and mineral exploration policy and matters relating to exploration and prospecting of ores and minerals to identify lucrative mineral deposits. The GEOLOGIST is required to conduct research work, conduct field trips and special project to scientifically evaluate /by way of testing and demonstration / best or appropriate exploration methods for improved mineral discovery and compile scientific or technical field reports to provide feedback to the Immediate boss.
Requirement and skills
Proven experiences as a geologist
Experiences with various geological techniques like mining , boring and numerical modeling
Experiences using geology software /eg. ArcGIS Rock ware/ and other data and modeling tools /e.g Adobe Illustrator , Go CAD/
Familiarity with environmental regulations.
Good Knowledge of the attributes ores , soil ,minerals and other materials
An analytical mind
Great communication skills /oral and written /
Organizational and teamwork ability
