Job Description

Overview:

  • Plan, organize and execute financial tasks and projects of Quantum Technology Plc.

  • To develop strong & effective cost and finance system of the campany.

  • Produce financial reports, mange investment activities, and create strategies and plans for long-term financial goals of an organization.

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Enforce generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

  • Based on the company annual plan she/he will develop the budget and annual plan of the department.

  • She/he will lead, facilitate and control the department and hold regular meetings with the finance staff.

  • By using the strategic plan of the company, she/he will prepare annual budget in collaboration with other departments and will follow and monitor the implementation of the budget once it’s approved by the general manager.

  • As needed, she/he will revise or work on the campany cost, budget & finance policy, regulations and manual.

  • She/he will work on providing financial insight about the campany cost, budget, policies and manuals for both employees and stakeholders.

  • She/ he will oversee and control the different department’s revenue and cost. 

  • She/he will work closely with the general manager, other management staff and stakeholders on adjusting the cost of the campany products and develop and implement plans for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. 

  • She/he will make sure departments use efficiency cost accounting timetable/schedule and will report the result for the general manager & the management.

  • She/he will supervise whether or not departments are adhering to their budget and will take corrective measure when a gap is detected.

  • She/he will monitor whether or not the revenue and cost of the company is according to its policy and manuals.

  • She/he manages any documents that are related to money, the cash at hand and check of the company.

  • She/he will provide briefing on the company budget and financial activities and understand and calculate the risks involved in the financial activities of the campany.

  • She/he will prepare the company financial report (Profit & loss) and provide briefing.

  • She/he will provide all the necessary information while the company is under audit (internal & external) and will give comments on the results.

  •  She/he will decide on the human resources and materials needs of the finance department.

  • She/he will conduct performance evaluation (twice a year) for the staffs under her/his direct supervision, motivate those with good achievement and will work on ways to improve the perfromace of those who are underperforming.

  • She/he will work in collaboration with the human resources department to formulate training and continuous professional development programs/platforms for employees under finance department. 

  • She/he will prepare and present a finance plan & its implementation progress for the general manager.

  • She/he will make sure of the implementation of all financial policies and manuals of the government and will create a suitable platform for their implementation.  

  • She/he will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement (profit & loss) and submit for the general manager.

  • She/he will report the timely management (preparation & payment) of Vat, withholding, employee tax and pension. 

  • Ensure all financial information is recorded in the finance system and support documents are well filled.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • BA degree/ Masters degree in finance/accounting or related field from a legal collage/university.

  • 8+ years of experience.

  • Professional Certification IFRS and Peachtree.

  • Work experience in a Tech organization is a plus.

KNOWLEGDE, SKILLS, ATTITUDE

  • Knowledge of GAAP.

  • Knowledge about financial policies, manuals and laws (National & international).

  • Peachtree accounting skill and quick books.

  • Excellent computer utilization skill.

  • Excellent communication skill and excellent finance report – writing.

  • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.

  •  Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Reading comprehension – fluent in Amharic & English.
