For this institutionalizing Safeguarding is the major operation that Oxfam carried out through listening to those who are affected; responding sensitively and safely when harm or allegations of harm occur; and learning from every case. This will help to uphold Oxfam’s commitment towards prevention of Sexual Abuse; Exploitation and Harassment (PSEAH).JOB PURPOSE:Recognizing abuse is important. Acting on concerns is vital. But it’s just as important that you keep a record of all safeguarding concerns in your organization. Telephone operator works closely with Safeguarding and MEAL teams, which are working on prevention of PSEA and Ensuring Quality of programs respectively.This role handles any complaints which are related with Oxfam. The operator receives and direct complaints to relevant department in the organization (Safeguarding; MEAL; HR and Fraud). POST HOLDER REPORTS TOTBDJOBS REPORTING TO THIS POST BUDGET RESPONSIBILITYNo
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical:
1. receive and record calls of complaints which comes through the short code keeping confidentiality
·Works closely with the Safeguarding r and MEAL department
2. Managing the phone calls.
Manages the phone calls and refer for the relevant departments within a short period (like 10 minute) for the seek of urgency and immediacy.
Keep confidentialities of each compliant
3. Contributing to developing Oxfam program qualities
Share feedbacks of the community which comes through the phone for relevant department that will support program departments to act accordingly

Experience, Knowledge & Competencies:
Essential:
BA Degree or Diploma in Communication, Social Science or another relevant field which can bring value to this role.
Minimum 2-4 years of experience in operator, radio operations as well a certificate in Radio Communications and other social science related positions preferably in a crisis context.
Strong ability to communicate clearly and impactfully with a range of program participants; stakeholders including Oxfam staffs.
·Currently Oxfam works in different regions of Ethiopia namely Gambella; Somali; Amhara; Afar and Tigray. So we are looking a candidates who have writing, speaking, reading, and editing skills of more than two regional languages to make easy and accessible our reporting systems for the community we are working in. Basics in Amharic and English language and a minimum of two regional language skill is mandatory. Skills with more than three regional languages will be an advantage for applicant.
·Not mentioning types and level of language skills on the cover letter makes the applicant disqualified from the recruitment process.
Proven ability to keep confidentiality of reported cases
Good knowledge of culture of the community that Oxfam working in.
