Job Description

Human resources officers develop and implement strategies that help their employers select and retain appropriately qualified staff within that business sector. They recruit staff, prepare job advertisements, interview and short-list people, negotiate with employment agencies, and set up working conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide support in staff planning, recruitment, induction, development, appraisal, performance management, and contract termination;

  • Enforce the Ethiopian Labour Law, company policy and regulation in all HR activities;

  • Coordinates all HR administration tasks including benefits administration;

  • Communicate with employees on updates related to their bank account, benefits and leave balances;

  • Handle vacancies announcements and follow up on the timely collection of applications;

  • Update personnel records in line with the HR guidelines and ensure their completeness;

  • Ensure staff insurance registration and renewals are made in a timely manner;

  • Ensure staff are registered and covered by pension fund as per government pension law;

  • Reviews the attendance management of the Company and its proper implementation;

  • Manage all HR-related correspondence in a timely manner and as per the labour law;

  • Handle staff leave management and ensure a timely utilization is in place;

  • Coordinates activities such as special events, meetings, travel, training, and staff gathering/retreat;

  • Strive to improve the company’s working culture and environment to ensure the a convenient working environment and office layouts;

  • Working with the legal team on policy issues, compliance concerns and grievances;

  • Shortlist and screen applications as per the requirement set for the position including conducting background and reference checks;

  • Conducts exit interviews for leavers; identifies key issues and prepares periodic reports for improvement;

  • Perform other duties assigned and delegated by the Human Resource Manager

Requirements

Academic qualification

  • Degree in Management, Human Resources or related fields

Additional qualifications

  • Excellent communication and administration skills

    • Excellent Inter and Intra-personal communication skills

    • Self-motivated, result-oriented and well-organized

    • Good knowledge of Ethiopia Labor Law

    • Proven problem-solving and decision-making aptitude

Years of experience: 5+ years of experience in the Human Resource Management field, preferably in the Import Export/Manufacturing sector is advantageous
