ZOA, as an international NGO, supports people who have lost everything due to armed conflict or natural disaster. Together, we can come to their aid in emergencies and remain faithful to communities as they recover – providing new opportunities for them to help themselves again. The work of ZOA is coordinated from the Netherlands. We are active in multiple countries in Africa, South America, the Middle East Region, and Asia. ZOA is looking for a

Cleaner

ZOA’s programme in Ethiopia

ZOA works in several regions in Ethiopia: Gambella Regional State (field office in  Gambella Town), Somali Regional State (field office in Dolo Ado and Melkadida refugee camp), Tigray Regional State (field office in Shire and Mekelle), Oromia Regional State (field office in Harar), Amhara and Addis Ababa. In Ethiopia, ZOA works with Internally Displaced People (IDPs), host populations, persons with disabilities, returnees, and a large population of refugees who fled a combination of violence and drought in Somalia, South Sudan and Eritrea. 

Your challenge 

  •  This role is Responsible for clearing and cleaning the kitchen and to keep office building in a clean and orderly condition.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    • Emptying waste bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection points.

    • Sweeping floors with brushes or dust control mops.

    • Mopping floors with wet or damp mops

    • To dust, damp wipe, wash or polish office furniture, ledges, window sills, external surfaces of cupboards, shelves and fitments

    • To replenish consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels) if required within the contract.

    • To clean toilets, urinals, hand basins, sinks, baths, showers and drinking fountains.

    • To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job

Job Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements,

·       College Diploma (10+3) or Technical (TVT) certificate in Catering or Housekeeping,

·       At least 3 years’ experience as a Cooker/Cleaner preferably in Catering or Hotel sector;

·       Good Verbal Communication,

·       Have good time keeping

·       Excellent inter personnel skills and able to work in a team

·       Willingness and ability to be flexible

·       Trustworthy and reliable

·       Good Communications Skill both English and local language

·       Commitment to and understanding of ZOA’s aims, values and principles
