Position Overview:

Frontieri is currently seeking a motivated MEL intern to support our Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning activities. This internship will contribute to enhancing the overall performance and impact of our projects. By closely collaborating with stakeholders and ensuring effective MEL practices, the intern will play a vital role in driving positive change. The position reports to the company's MEL specialist and has the potential for promotion to a full-time and permanent role based on performance during the internship period.

General Duties and Responsibilities of the Intern:

  • Assist in organizing capacity-building training sessions based on identified learning needs.

  • Ensure the technical team effectively utilizes and leverages the Zoho Project Management tool for efficient project monitoring and management.

  • Support the preparation of actual firm performance reports based on selected key performance indicators, providing accurate and timely information to stakeholders.

  • Assist in the digitalization of MEL activities within the organization, ensuring efficient data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.

  • Participate in analyzing, interpreting, and presenting resource utilization data to relevant work units, enabling informed decision-making.

  • Coordinate the timely submission of periodic progress reports to relevant stakeholders, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.

  • Assist in the collection, documentation, and archival of the firm's annual performance data for evaluation, planning, and budgeting purposes.

  • Provide support to teams in the design and implementation of work plans, ensuring alignment with MEL objectives and indicators.

  • Collaborate with the Project Performance Management Office to ensure optimal project management practices, including effective monitoring and evaluation systems.

  • Co-organized capacity-building sessions on MEAL for different business units, facilitating knowledge sharing and skill development.

  • Handle any other activities as required by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

Education, and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or Economics.

  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting techniques, including the use of relevant software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, PowerBI, etc.).

  • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies and best practices.

  • Advantageous familiarity with project management tools, particularly Zoho Project Management or similar platforms.

Technical Skills;

  • Excellent communication skills to interact professionally and effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to develop data visualizations.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to deliver work under tight deadlines.

  • Critical and reflective thinking skills.
