Job Description
Administer all import and export of goods and supervise the delivery of all goods and manage distribution of all goods to various geographical locations efficiently.
Maintain subject matter expertise in all import and export operations and evaluate all company businesses and provide require classification for same.
Monitoring and control the export process from Ethiopia to all over the worlds, African regions, include all documentation and dealing with forwarders.
Collaborate with senior management and ensure compliance to all trade regulations and changes and provide training to all company employees for all import processes.
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining relationship with all oceans, air, and consolidator /booking agents to ensure accountability and proactive handling of the supply chain.
Develop and implement policies and procedures related to imports and exports.
Maintain and update the import/export compliance database.
Responsible and accountable for advanced planning of logistics provider capacity and volume forecasting to protect on –time shipping.
Upkeep of customer connections as well as participation in the company's sales tasks
Making sure the efficiency and Profitability of imports and exports.
Prepare import and document, License per invoice.
Manage export and import custom documents.
Evaluate and control import and export business,
Develop and implement strategies to minimize the impact of these restrictions on the company.
Communicate with shipping & forwarding agent for clearance.
Control and review the Import Export reporting with plan
Observing and formulating different way-out of boosting Export business
Create and manage all international customers/suppliers for better efficiency.
Handle and manage all import shipments as per the import procedures and requirements in collaboration with concerned authorities and freight forwarding companies.
Prepare and submit required documentation to government agencies in a timely and accurate manner.
Prepare and Updates import follow up sheet.
Observing and formulating the records of the activities related to imports.
Application for import permits using Ethiopian single window services.
Communicate and cross check invoices from supplier before shipment
Follow up for the clearance of undertakings given related to imported materials clearance.
Performs other duties assigned by the General Manager.
bachelor's degree in marketing, finance, international business, or a similar field.
5 years and above experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience required.
Prior experience in import/export operations, experience in managing & developing a team is crucial. A solid understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, documentation, and logistics.
Strong knowledge and understanding of import/export regulations, compliance requirements, and trade agreements are essential. Familiarity with customs procedures, tariff classifications, import/export licenses, and international shipping practices is important.
A good understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and transportation processes. Understanding the intricacies of freight forwarding, inventory management, shipping methods, and distribution networks.
Proficiency in relevant software applications such as customs management systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and spreadsheet tools is valuable for efficient import/export operations and data management.
