Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong background in Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) building and infrastructure installations. The ideal candidate will have 10 to 15 years of relevant experience and will be responsible for site supervision and design review of electrical systems in various projects. This is a senior-level position that requires extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices, as well as the ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct site supervision activities for electrical installations in building and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, local and international codes, and standards.

• Review and evaluate electrical designs, shop drawings, calculations, specifications, material submittal and method statements for MV and LV systems, ensuring technical accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to applicable regulations and specifications.

• Follow-up pro-actively on the relevant design, construction and execution activities within the project and provide the necessary support to project team members and managers in drafting up necessary reports.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, structural, ICT and mechanical engineers, to ensure coordination and integration of electrical systems with other building/infrastructure components.

• Conduct comprehensive quality control checks and inspections to identify and resolve electrical installation issues and ensure execution to achieve design intent.

• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to MV and LV electrical systems, and incorporate best practices into project designs and reviews.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and inspectors, fostering their professional growth and development.

• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to address technical queries, resolve issues, and ensure project objectives are met within the specified timelines and budget.

• Prepare when required needed presentations / reports / minutes of meetings.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. Master's degree is a plus.

• 10 to 15 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on MV and LV building and infrastructure installations.

• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, local and international codes and standards (IEC, BS, BS EN, NFPA, etc.)  related to MV and LV systems.

• Knowledge in sustainable design principles and energy-efficient solutions relevant to electrical system designs. LEED accreditation is a plus.

• Proven experience in site supervision and design review of electrical installations in building and infrastructure projects. Having a design background is a plus.

• Proficiency in using electrical design software (ETAP, Ecodial, Dialux, Generator sizing, lightning risk assessment, etc.) and CAD;

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. Command of the English language is a must. Knowledge of French is a plus.

• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the capacity to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.

• Professional engineering licensure or certification is preferred.

• Knowledge of contractual matters and obligations is a plus.
