Médecins du Monde or Doctors of the World, is an international humanitarian organization which provides emergency and long-term medical care to the world's most vulnerable people.

Médecins du Monde (MDM) is operating in Ethiopia since 1986 in different types of health projects. MDM–France invites qualified candidates to apply for the following position:

Position Title: Human Resource Assistant  

Duty station:  Ethiopia, Addis Coordination Office

Starting date: Immediately /ASAP 

Employment Term:  3 Months

Reported to:  Human Resource Coordinator

  Job Summary

 The position holder will be responsible to handle the daily administrative and HR duties of an organization. He/she will provide clerical support to the staff and the department to support effective and efficient operations of the organizations human resource department.

He/she will be base in Addis Ababa under the direct supervision of Human Resource Coordinator

Essential duties and responsibilities.

  • Maintain digital and electronic records of employees.

  • Maintain calendars of HR management team.

  • Oversee the completion of compensation and benefit documentation.

  • Assist with performance management procedures.

  • Perform orientations and update records of new staff.

  • Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.

  • Sorts, file, register and dispatch incoming and outgoing human resources correspondences and prepare personnel action and memos;

  • Maintain all HR policies, procedures and ensure appropriate formats preserved well.

  • Handles any HR issues as deemed necessary.

  • Complete termination paperwork and exit interviews.

  • Facilitate and prepare of Identification Cards for all emergency and development staff and distribute to PA/Emergency area.

  • Update the Roster (after recruitment process update/recode in the candidate education status, work experience and other necessary data from the waiting list.

  • Provide support in facilitating clearance for separating employee and ensure that employee returns the ID card.

  • Facilitate the clearance, exit Interview and Handover note to submit them for signature for concerned person.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

  • Education: BA /Diploma level or equivalent vocational study in fields such as Management, Human Resource Management

 Work Experience

  •  Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience  Experience in an international NGO

  • Experience of working in African context especially in Ethiopian would be an asset

Personal Skills and qualities required

  • Meticulous attention to detail.

  • Ability to accurately, follow instructions.

  • Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.

  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn

  • ability to follow instructions accurately and meet deadlines

  • Good working relationship and a management experience

 Languages  required

  •  Fluency in English language is essential

  • In addition to Amharic, other Knowledge of Local Languages is a desirable
