Job Description

The Business Planning and Monitoring Manager is responsible for developing and overseeing the business planning process and monitoring the performance of a company or organization. This role involves working closely with senior management to set strategic objectives, and create business plans. The Business Planning and Monitoring Manager ensures effective implementation of business plans and provides regular reports and analysis to support informed decision-making. 

Job Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior management to define the company's strategic objectives and develop comprehensive business plans. Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and assess competitive dynamics to inform the planning process. Create financial forecasts, budgetary guidelines, and performance targets aligned with the company's strategic direction.

  • Establish and monitor KPIs to track the company's progress towards its goals. Design and implement systems to collect, analyze, and report on relevant data and metrics.Analyze financial statements, profitability ratios, and other financial metrics to assess the company's financial health and performance. Identify areas of concern, evaluate cost-saving opportunities, and provide financial recommendations to support decision-making and resource allocation.

  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, board meetings, and other stakeholders. Summarize business performance, key findings, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner. Communicate complex information effectively and present data-driven insights to support strategic discussions and decision-making.

  • Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may affect the company's performance or strategic initiatives. Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and establish contingency plans. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure risk management processes are implemented effectively.

  • Continuously evaluate and enhance the business planning and monitoring processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Identify opportunities for automation, streamline workflows, and implement best practices. Seek feedback from stakeholders and implement improvements to optimize the planning and monitoring functions.

  • Collaborate with various departments and teams to gather input and insights for business planning and monitoring activities. Work closely with finance, operations, marketing, and other relevant stakeholders to align business plans, share information, and ensure coordination and integration across functions.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes that may impact the company's operations and strategies. Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking to identify opportunities and threats. Provide recommendations and insights based on market intelligence to support strategic decision-making.

    Qualifications:

    •   Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

    •   Proven experience in business planning, performance monitoring, or a related role.

    •   Strong financial analysis skills and ability to interpret complex financial data.

    •   Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with   exceptional presentation and reporting skills.

    •   Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools and software.

    •   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    •   Exceptional presentation and reporting skills.

    •   Strong project management and organizational skills.

    •   Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
