Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Investment and Funding Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities across various industries and stages of development. The Investment and Funding Associate will be expected to work closely with the investment team and other internal stakeholders to identify and execute investment opportunities, while also building relationships with external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research on various investment opportunities, financial markets, and economic trends and analysis to identify potential investment opportunities. Analyze financial statements and other data to help inform investment decisions.
- Evaluate investment opportunities by conducting due diligence and financial analysis. Also responsible for creating financial models to help evaluate the potential risks and returns of investment opportunities such as cash flow projections, discounted cash flow analyses, and other financial metrics.
- Prepare investment memos, presentations and reports on investment opportunities and financial performance to share with senior management, investors, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in negotiations and transaction structuring with potential investment targets by building relationships with external partners such as venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, and other industry professionals
- Monitor portfolio companies and provide ongoing support as needed by researching and analyzing potential investment opportunities to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with other internal teams such as legal, finance, and operations to ensure successful execution of investment transactions and that investment decisions align with the overall goals and strategy of the organization.
- Estimates and forecasts future financial need and supports programs with financial analytics. Participates in establishing and defining program plan requirements and conducts program plan studies.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to investment and funding
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related field (MBA or other advanced degree advantageous)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in private equity, venture capital, or related field
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrated interest in technology, startups, and venture capital
