Specific duties and responsibilities
Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of nature based solution project quality and budget management;
Lead the development of the project procurement, activity and budget plans;
Coordinate and lead the project team in reviewing progress and results, identify gaps and solutions and share technical ideas for the project staff;
Lead and engage in the landscape and market assessment, gender analysis, baseline and end-line survey and compilation of reports
Manage the development of carbon credit opportunities in the project and maintain an overview of credits under development, developed and sold to prospective credits;
Scan the external market for commercial and technical developments with respect to carbon credits and other nature-based solution credits in the project;
Link the project with concerned government offices and collaborate with them for the smooth implementation of the project;
Select vulnerable communities and project priority groups jointly with the project coordinator, project staff, local government and communities representatives for the project and lead the beneficiary verification process;
Facilitate the opening of bank accounts for the target beneficiaries together with the project team members;
Up on completion of the any distribution, coordinate and lead the data collection for the post distribution monitoring (PDM) report;
Conduct training, orientations and handle awareness creation sessions to staff on nature based solution approaches and principles and various issues including beneficiary selection process, core humanitarian standards (CHS), visibility, safety and security, code of conduct, etc.;
Ensures successful integration and mainstreaming of vulnerability, accountability, sustainability and feedback mechanisms in the planning and implementation processes;
Represent LWF and participate in the appropriate cluster and networks at local, zonal and regional levels to ensure effective synergy and complementarity;
Primarily responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluating the overall interventions of the nature based solution project in close coordination and consultation with the project staff and the East Bale Regional Coordinator;
Carry out surveys and identification of needs and constraints and suggest recommendations to the area projects coordinator;
Prepare periodic reports and submit in time to the area Projects Coordinator and the LWF country office;
Follow procedure as outlined in LWF World Service Ethiopia Staff Rules, Collective Agreement and other Operation Manuals;
Perform any other duties as assigned to him/her by the immediate supervisor or his designate.
Qualification and Experience
Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Project Management, Nature Based Solutions, Environment, Climate Change, Natural Resource Management, Rural development, Sustainability related filed of study or other relevant disciplines from a recognized universality.
Minimum of 8 years relevant experience for Bachelor degree and 6 years for Masters Degree. Experience in leading a project in a complex context is highly advantageous.

Strong interpersonal skills and strong team player
Excellent communication and reporting skills
Affinity for relevant technologies and excellent computer skills (i.e., ability to build advanced quantitative models and basics of coding)
Strong affinity with Conservation and / or Sustainability
proficient in English spoken and written and preferably fluency local language would be a plus
Key competencies:
Strong communication skill in English (written and oral)
Ability to interact with people
Knowledge in areas of Nature Based Solutions approach and principles;
Previous related experience in international NGO setup is an advantage
