JOB SUMMARY:
Under the immediate supervision of the Fleet Administration Officer. Isuzu NPR truck driver delivers/collect medical and nonmedical items from Central Warehouse to different channels in the country as required. The products to be distributed to MCH, BEMOC, Centers Program office, regional warehouse, and Gov’t stores as per the distribution procedure of MSIE. The incumbent also drives vehicles during supervision and monitoring of the channels which are in the Area Programs Office as required. The Driver will be responsible for safe driving, transportation, and delivery of medical and non-medical equipment and other supplies to intended destinations; and collect the necessary delivery confirmation notes/GRN /model 19 for every trip and timely submit to the storekeeper. The Driver will work under the direct supervision of the Fleet Administration Officer, in compliance HR manual as well as the MSI Fleet manual.
He/she ensures that the truck is in good working condition, keeps the tools safely, keeps the vehicle clean and presentable, and ensures timely annual inspection and road-worthiness certificate acquisitions, and fixes minor breakages and maintenance and repairs. He Keeps a record of departure, arrival, mileage covered, fuel consumed, daily checks, and other pertinent records and submits the necessary mileage-related document to Fleet Administration Officer on regular or monthly bases.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
· Transports Project, centers, sales, MCH input materials such as medical and non-medical items and equipment to the regional operational sites, provide other freight transport services to Gov’t partners, and collect the necessary delivery confirmation notes/GRN/ /model 19 for each trip and submit storekeeper.
· Ensure proper handover/takeover protocol is applied as the truck is assigned
· Responsible to comply with the road authority driving regulation
· Ensures materials are safely transported and delivered to the intended destination.
· Checks the freight transportation schedule for the Isuzu truck Van and facilitate anticipates requirement for taking the trip and report if there are any plan changes to the immediate supervisor.
· Ensures every Isuzu Truck movement is accompanied by a Store issue and approved transport service request form.
· Observes the loading/unloading of materials on and from the truck.
· Physically ascertains the quantity, type, damages, shortage, etc. of the cargo.
· Crosschecks the physical quantity and condition of loaded/unloaded materials with the entry made on the store issue, a delivery confirmation note/GRN/ /model 19, and other relevant documents.
· Handles documents (Store issued, Goods Received Note, model 19, etc.) with care, and submits them to the concerned unit (during offloading, upon return to base, at checkpoints, etc.).
· Transporting only organizational products/supplies from the intended location to the proposed location.
· Distribute project/sales materials to different operational sites and collect the delivery confirmation note/GRN /Model 19 upon delivery of the items from the consignee and submit the document to the storekeeper.
· Actively involved in the deployment and release of project input materials and other equipment from the Support office to different project/sales operational sites.
· Assists with the loading and unloading process of the equipment, count the actual loaded items and cross-check with dispatching document; and properly deliver the equipment without damage and discrepancy.
· Performs other related duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor.
Driving and Vehicle Management
· Carries out daily routine checks on his truck and follows up on scheduled maintenance of the truck.
· Ensures there is sufficient fuel in the fuel container and checks on the level of oil and water and does refilling as needed.
· Reports dents, cracks, bruises, or bumps of any magnitude on the body of the truck on time.
· Keeps the truck cabin as well as the Van body clean, and verify the windshield glass and mirrors (head, side, and rear) are clear.
· Verifies the mileage of tire mounting and dismounting KM and properly records on tire mounting controlling sheet.
· Keeps tools, accessories, spare tires, and first aid kit on the truck, and makes them readily available for use and inspection/ inventory.
· Ascertains that all tools and other accessories for the truck are handy and functional; and makes sure that the loads are within permissible limits.
· Follows up the operating condition of the truck, timely reports repair/ maintenance needs, and checks the repair of the truck before receiving it from the workshop.
· Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including insurance, registration, log sheet, checklist, fuel, first aid, road fund, and 3rd party certificates
· Maintains all records related to the use of the Isuzu NPR Van truck such as daily log sheet, departure, time, arrival, mileage covered, fuel consumed, and other pertinent records, and submit necessary mileage-related documents to the relevant Fleet administration/officer regularly or on monthly bases.
· Report malfunctioning or defective technical problems on the truck to the immediate supervisor and take corrective actions.
· Support the fleet division in operating other vehicles while the truck hasn’t been operational.
· Performs other related duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor.
Person specification qualifications, skills, and experience
A. Qualification Requirements
· Education and Experience:
· Diploma or TVET Level III in Auto Motive Technology, Auto Mechanic/ 10th or 12th Grade with 3rd Grade Driving License or/ D1 or D2 Driving License. A driver who has Public-1(P1) or former driving license is highly desirable.
v Minimum of three years experience driving above five-ton trucks with humanitarian organizations and having a safe driving record for TVET level III in Auto Motive Technology or Diploma in Auto Mechanic holder.
v Minimum 5 years’ experience driving above five-ton trucks with humanitarian organizations and having a safe driving record for 10+ or 12th grade
· Training, and experience in auto mechanics and non-Governmental or other international organizations is highly required.
· Cross over the county driving experience,
· Good communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
· Knowledge of truck driving rules, and regulations, mechanical know-how and skills of minor repair and maintenance of the truck, and physical capability to perform the job.
· Good knowledge of safe driving ability and strictly adhering to MSI Fleet manual and Driver’s policy as well as government regulations
· Short-term training on FP/MA sales and distribution

· Good sense of cleanliness.
· Knowledge about vehicle operations.
· Good knowledge of the main roads and side roads around the work areas.
· Good interpersonal and negotiation skills
