TEAM PURPOSE:
Oxfam in Ethiopia is working with more than 10 local/national NGOs across the country to support the programs in the areas of humanitarians, development, gender, governance, and accountability programming. In our partnerships, we engage with NGOs, women’s organizations, networks, academia and research institutions, government authorities as well as UN agencies responding working in the above spheres. Oxfam intends to facilitate local leadership and capacity sharing through its work with various actors.
The partnership team leads and facilitates the partnership processes with the different actors we work with, including mapping of potential partners, capacity, and due diligence assessments, establishing partnerships with eligible organizations, supporting partners in project implementation, capacity sharing, and learning exchanges, joint follow- ups and support as relevant, and other needed interventions to support the partners lead programs/responses program in Ethiopia.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Partnership Officer will lead on liaison and coordination with the different organizations we work with, and actively support the partners in their day-to-day relationship and partnership engagement processes and actions. The person will be responsible for effective communications with the partners, coordination of capacity strengthening and exchange processes, providing and/or mobilizing support to partners, facilitating visibility of partners’ work, coordination among partners and Oxfam technical teams, etc

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Programme Partnership and Partners Support
Assist the partnership coordinator in mapping for new/potential partners in the country
Assist the partnership coordinator in conducting the partner’s capacity and due diligence assessments
Ensure relevant policies are shared with all partners as required in assessment tools
Act as partners’ focal point and work with the partnership coordinator and other business development teams to respond to partner’s requests in a timely manner
Liaise with partners on a weekly basis to follow up on challenges of implementation or new requests and keep records accordingly
Responsible for preparing and maintaining documentation for partner-related activities in a clean, tidy, and well-organized manner all the time
Coordination and Collaboration
Support the partnership coordinator and relevant country colleagues in processing partners’ letters of agreement and grants payments to partners
Coordinate with partners and Oxfam colleagues for the conduct of training, meetings, and other gatherings as needed
Assist with other tasks as requested by the Line Manager and as deemed necessary for partnership processes
Organizational Tasks
Conduct and/or organize monitoring and follow-up trips to partners liaising between partnership coordinator, technical coordinators, and partners’ focal points
Record and archive visit reports to partners, minutes of meetings, and relevant stakeholders
Responsible for archiving and documentation of project data including uploading it on OPAL management information and review
Prepare, keep, and update hard copies of partners’ and projects’ files
Support in organizing kick-off workshops and capacity-building events as requested by program/technical coordinators, liaising with human resource, logistics, and finance departments
Prepare per diem and transportation payment sheets for the participants of training and meetings as appropriate
Maintain electronic & hard copy filling system of partnership program-related documents
Assist in resolving any administrative problems and inquiries
Maintain and update contact lists for partners and trainees

SKILS, Experience, Knowledge & Competencies
Essential
Master’s and/or Degree in Social Sciences, Sociology, Social Work, Communication, Education, and, or relevant disciplines/any other related areas that can bring added value to the job from a recognized university/college.
Relevant/practical 4-5 years of working experience in civil society organizational capacity development, communication, and networking experience in supporting, working, or building networks of collaborating parties.
Knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to Oxfam's values, mission, and work including feminist approach to humanitarian responses and Oxfam’s partnership principles.
Good understanding of, and experience with, mapping, developing, and managing partnerships with and among CSOs, government or private institutions, federations, networks, and platforms.
