Job Description
A Head of Nursing is a medical professional who provides medical care to patients in the medical and other wards of the hospital.
Duties and responsibilities
A Head of Nursing is responsible for overseeing teams of Nurses or divisions of healthcare facilities.
The head should be in charge of all nursing tasks especially in medical wards such as Pedy, Emergency….
Responsible for the performance of their team, he/she has to make sure Nurses are meeting all their job requirements.
Make sure all the patients for whom they’re responsible have needs met and are provided with appropriate attention.
Remaining up to date on the latest developments, rules and regulations, drug therapies, equipment, and treatment procedures.
Working with children and asking questions about their health for diagnosis and documenting patients' symptoms and medical.
Providing supportive care to dying children.
Administering medications, drawing blood, and giving childhood vaccinations following age-appropriate guidelines.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
Previous working experience as a Head Nurse in medical wards preferably Pedy ward for 3 or more year(s).
A Registered nursing license.
BSC degree in nursing
Excellent interpersonal skills
Leadership and organization skills
Analytical skills
Attention to detail
Knowledge of various healthcare systems
