Plan, prepare and perform diagnostic imaging examinations and post processing, with a wide range of equipment and techniques using X-rays, strong magnetic fields or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and high frequency sound (Ultrasound).

Major duties/responsibilities

• Keep a detailed record of patients, including the entire patient treatment process, and rate of response to treatment;

• Make sure that radiography equipment is positioned properly at the correct angle and height above the appropriate body part of the patients’;

• Properly explain the treatment procedures to patients and also quash any sort of fears he/she may have;

• Explain a clear picture of the whole treatment process to patients and ensure patients are well informed;

• Position or adjust patients’ body to make sure that the appropriate part that requires treatment undergoes proper radiography;

• Surround the exposed part of patients’ body with radiation-resistant/protective equipment so as to prevent any form of harm;

• Responsible for managing the radiography department and preparing patients for a diagnostic imaging exam

• Maintains a clean and safe environment by complying with processes and regulations

• Maintain radiology inventory supplies by anticipating needed items, regularly checking inventory levels, and placing orders for new supplies.

• Minimizes radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using patient shielding, and having knowledge of exposure factors.

• Maintains technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks and societies;

Academic Qualification 

• Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology

Work Experience: 1 - 2 years’ work experience as a radiology technician in any medical facility
