ICOS Consulting PLC is one of the fast-growing consulting firms in Africa that combines deep industry/sector knowledge with specialized expertise in development research, survey solutions, strategy development and execution, monitoring and evaluation, market research, and so on. ICOS and its sister companies would like to hire hardworking, competent and passionate sales representatives.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the sales representative will be responsible for selling a company's products by identifying leads, educating prospects on products through calls, trainings, and presentations, and providing existing customers and partners with necessary support. Sales representatives work as ambassadors and are responsible for establishing and maintaining good relationships with customers based on their assigned territory. They must build trust and act as support for prospects, ensuring they lead to potential future sales.

Responsibilities and duties of the Sales Representative

  • Develop and increase the number of active customers and partners.

  • Identify potential new customers and service providers.

  • Conduct sales out in the field via face-to-face interactions with both potential and existing customers and service providers.

  • Offer the best possible user experience to customers and service providers as well as providing hands-on explanations of any new or updated products when necessary. 

  • Travel within sales territory to meet prospects and customers/ service providers

  • Conduct calls and face-to-face meetings with customers and service providers daily

  • Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers

  • Build and maintain relationships with new and repeat customers and service providers

  • Maintain records of all sales leads and/or customer and service providers’ accounts

  • Educate customers on how products or services can benefit them financially and professionally

  • Sell the company’s products or services to customers within your given territory

  • Monitor the company’s industry competitors, new products, and market conditions to understand a customer's and service provider’s specific needs

  • Work closely with marketing department personnel to help build the brand

  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs

  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule

  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments

  • Analyse the assigned territory market’s potential, track sales and status reports

  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.

  • Prepare and submit plans with clearly articulated objectives, activities, performance indicators, targets and schedules.

  • Prepare and submit progress reports against plans and targets.

  • Perform other related activities that might be assigned by immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related fields.

  • At least two years’ experience in customer acquisition/sales, and related positions.

  • Excellent selling, communication, negotiation and persuasive skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Amharic and English.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs

  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback

  • Customer oriented and flexible

  • People oriented, diplomatic and able to get along with a wide range of personalities and people from diverse backgrounds

  • Analytical and strong problem solving ability

  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales

  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)

  • Willingness to travel and meet with clients as needed

  • Ability to meet and exceed sales goals
