Organization
iMMAP France is a non for profit organization that provides information management services to humanitarian and development organizations. Through information management, we help our partners target assistance to the world’s most vulnerable populations ad we support local authorities and institutions to enhance their capacities and become autonomous in their internal data and information management activities.
The Technical Advisor (TA) will support and effectively contribute to the initiation, planning, design, development, and implementation of the program in Ethiopia. The role also involves support for effectively coordinating training and capacity-building interventions at the different stages of the humanitarian training cycle. The incumbent is further responsible to provide technical guidance to the program team as well as to collaborate with the Country representative in developing programmatic amendments, new project proposals and technical partnerships that can enhance the impact of the program implementation.
The position is open to both national and international applicants, based in Ethiopia or home based within -2/+2 time difference from France.
Line management
The Technical Advisor shall work under the direction of the Ethiopia Country Representative.
Strategy and programmatic development
In collaboration with the Country Representative to develop the program strategy and country strategy
In collaboration with the Country Representative work to develop new programmatic and partnership opportunities, develop new proposals and respond to RFPs in close coordination with HQ.
Technical advisory role
Provide technical guidance to the program team, ensure the project is implemented in line with iMMAP France standards and with the planned proposal
The TA will identify knowledge/capacity gaps in the response and partners and will inform the program accordingly
Support the CR in engagement with local and international NGOs, clusters and donors to ensure participation on the program focus
Identify barriers to data and information collection, collation, analysis, and sharing
Advise on technical partnership and technical approaches
Ensure timely preparation and generation of information products, and support information sharing and dissemination through web platforms, email, and other relevant methods
Advise on adaptation of existing IM tools
Contribute to donor reporting as required
Ensure regular exchanges with other country offices and programs is taking place to ensure mutual learning
Provide support at technical level to other country offices as needed
Representation
Represent iMMAP France with national and international stakeholders in Country as requested by the Country Representative or by Headquarter.
Education
Advanced university degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Science or other relevant fields;
Educational or comparable experience in the field of Information Management is required
Languages
English (fluent) – essential
French (fluent) is a plus
Experience
At least 6 years of experience in the field of information management
Previous experience in technical writing, proposal development writing required
Previous experience in representation and strategy development a plus
Knowledge of the country context and/or regional context is an asset
Soft skills
Strong presentation and communication skills;
Strong technical writing skills;
Problem solving capacity;
Capacity to efficiently deliver technical content to non-technical persons

Working conditions
Salary scale: 3500-5000 Euro
