Job Description
The LFS Assistant will carry out day-to-day General Food Distribution activities under the supervision of the LFS Coordinator. The project Assistant will be responsible for the Verification of beneficiaries' identity, issuing the food ration to the beneficiaries, reporting daily release and controlling the crowd and queue management. The specific tasks will be determined by the LFS Coordinator and will be based on skills and interests.
KEY Roles and Responsibilities:
Verify Beneficiaries’ identity and take their thumbprint in the distribution site as per supervisor guidance.
Issue food basket release orders to the intended beneficiaries.
Communicate with beneficiaries with respect and assist vulnerable beneficiaries are given needed considerations.
Monitor the daily flow of food commodities to beneficiaries.
Ensure that all equipment, food, and supplies are available for the assigned period/daily operation/s on the FDP Warehouse.
Review, prepare, and submit daily reports of delivered and distributed food.
Manage crowd and ensure proper alignment of beneficiaries, especially women and those of special needs in front of FDPs.
Do any related task asked by the supervisor.
Qualification and experience:
BA degree in Management and other social science fields
Knowledge of the context in the target location.
Proven experience and knowledge in Assistance Distribution
Good communication skills.
Ability to work independently and creatively.
Good computer skills.
Context related skills, knowledge, and experience (shall be adapted to the specific position):
Knowledge of the FSL context in Somali Region and the specific programme area
Knowledge of the Somali language is must.
