 Job Summary:

TechnoServe wants to recruit an IT Assistant who can perform the job described below in a professional and at the level of TechnoServe standard and procedures on a part-time basis. The position holder is responsible for working with the Senior IT Specialist and performing the tasks required in support of TechnoServe IT Systems and Technology, providing help to install, configure and maintain the organization’s network, hardware and software applications as and when required, providing general support for the organization’s computer users.

 The Position is primarily focused on working the areas of computer operations, computer networks, giving support (hardware and software) to the users, and performing a variety of information technology supporting tasks to ensure the smooth delivery of technology services to TechnoServe.

  Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance in the use of computer hardware, software, and ICT equipment and applications to the users.

  • Sets up and configures computer systems, tablets, smartphones, and peripherals as per TechnoServe standards and policy.

  • Test, Troubleshoot, diagnose problems, and implement appropriate corrective actions.

  • Provides basic troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance for computers, tablets, smartphones, and peripherals.

  • Participate and support in IT inventory and documentation. 

  • Perform installation and maintenance of the communications equipment in the networks.

  • Installs operating systems of computers, configure and setup Okta, and other technologies used in the organization.

  • Perform IT support on a daily and routine basis.

  • Perform routine tasks, such as backing up data, monitoring network and systems, servers, peripherals, etc.

  • Prepare weekly report by providing all the necessary information

  • Back up the Senior IT Specialist when needed.

  • Work closely and report to the Senior IT Specialist.

  • Perform any other duty or task as requested by the Senior IT Specialist

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Or Two (2) years of progressive technical experience in a similar organization.

  • Hands-on experience in installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of IT systems and technologies.  

  • Windows 10/11 technical experience 

  • Technologies include Okta, Google Workspace, VC systems, NAS, MDM etc. 

  • Basic understanding of IT security & privacy.  Cynet 360, SSO, GDPR, malware & email phishing etc.

  • Problem solving and customer service skill
